Terms of use
Last updated 2026-10-16 · Français · 简体中文 · 繁體中文
These terms apply to the SettleReady app and website, provided by BIIBIT LIMITED, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 16480080), registered office Suite 2, Second Floor, Sovereign House, 1 Albert Place, London N3 1QB, United Kingdom ("we", "us"). By using SettleReady you agree to them. Nothing in these terms affects your legal rights as a consumer.
1. What SettleReady is
SettleReady is an independent study aid for people preparing for citizenship and settlement tests. We are not part of, and are not affiliated with, endorsed by or approved by, the Home Office, the Department of Home Affairs (Australia), Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada, the test providers or any other government body. SettleReady is not the official practice material for any test.
For official information about the tests, including how to book, fees, the rules on what to bring and who must take a test, always check the government's own website (for the Life in the UK test, GOV.UK). If anything in SettleReady differs from official guidance, the official guidance is correct.
2. About our practice questions
- Real test questions are not published, so we write our own from the official study guide. The government does not publish the questions used in the real tests. Each test is based on its official study guide (for the UK, Life in the United Kingdom: A Guide for New Residents, 3rd edition), so every question in SettleReady is an original practice question that we write to follow that guide closely. Our questions are therefore not copies of real test questions.
- What matches the real test, and what may not. Our mock tests use the same number of questions, time limit and pass mark as the real test, and the same kinds of question (single answer, two answers, true or false, and choosing the correct statement). The wording, topics, difficulty and on-screen layout of the real test may be different.
- Where the study guide is out of date. The tests are based on the study guide, and some facts in it have changed since it was published. We try to avoid questions where the study guide and current facts disagree, and we explain the difference where it matters.
- Checking and corrections. We check our questions against the study guide and other reliable sources, but mistakes can happen. If you think a question is wrong, please use "Report a problem" in the app. We correct confirmed mistakes and send the fix to the app without an update.
3. No guarantee of passing
SettleReady is designed to help you prepare, but we cannot guarantee that you will pass any test. The pass readiness score and study plan are estimates based on how you answer our practice questions; they are not a prediction of your real result. We are not responsible for the outcome of your test, your booking, or any visa, settlement or citizenship application.
4. Not legal or immigration advice
Nothing in SettleReady is legal or immigration advice. For advice about your own situation, contact the relevant government department or a regulated immigration adviser.
5. Accounts
You can study without an account. An account is needed only to buy on our website, or to use your purchase and progress on more than one device. You can sign in with Apple, with Google, or with a one-time link sent to your email address; there is no password. Keep access to the email or sign-in account you use. You can export your data or delete your account at any time in Settings.
6. Prices and purchases
- Part of each course is free. The full course for each test is a one-off purchase. It is not a subscription and you will not be charged again. The price is the same on our website, the App Store and Google Play, and is shown on our pricing page.
- On our website: Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries and handles returns. You can pay by card, Apple Pay or Google Pay, and Paddle's buyer terms also apply to your order.
- In the apps: Apple or Google sells the purchase to you and handles payment, refunds and receipts under their terms. You can buy in the apps without an account; your purchase is tied to your Apple ID or Google account and can be restored with "Restore purchases".
- Using your purchase everywhere: if you sign in, a purchase made on any platform unlocks the course on our website and in our apps when you sign in with the same account.
- If the official study guide for a test is replaced by a new edition, we aim to update that course, and people who have bought it get the update at no extra cost.
7. Refunds
See our refund policy. In short: website purchases can be refunded in full within 14 days for any reason; app purchases are refunded by Apple or Google.
8. Reward for reporting a factual error
If you report a factual error in a question (a wrong answer or out-of-date information) and we confirm it, we will unlock the full course for that test on your account for free. The reward goes to the first person to report each error. Spelling, style or translation suggestions are welcome but are not rewarded. Whether a report is an error is decided by us, and we may change or end this offer at any time; rewards already given are not taken back.
9. Using our content
The questions, explanations, summaries and the question bank as a whole belong to us and are protected by copyright and database rights. You may use them for your own study. You may not copy, scrape, extract, republish or sell them, or use them to build another product, without our written permission. If you send us a report or comment, you allow us to use it to improve SettleReady.
10. Our responsibility to you
If SettleReady is faulty or not as described, you have rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, for example to have the problem fixed or to get some or all of your money back. We are responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of our breaking these terms or failing to use reasonable care and skill. We are not responsible for loss that is not foreseeable, or for business losses. We do not exclude or limit our liability where it would be unlawful to do so, including for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud. If you live outside the UK, you also have the rights that your local consumer law gives you, for example under the Australian Consumer Law or Canadian provincial consumer protection laws such as Quebec's Consumer Protection Act. Nothing in these terms limits those rights.
11. Changes and ending these terms
We may update these terms, for example to reflect changes in the law or in SettleReady. We will show the date of the latest version at the top of this page. You can stop using SettleReady at any time. We may suspend an account that is used to abuse the service, for example to scrape our content.
12. Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. You can bring proceedings in the courts of England and Wales, or, if you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, in the courts there. If you live outside the UK, this choice of law does not take away the protection of the mandatory consumer laws of the country, state or province where you live, and you can also bring proceedings in your local courts where that law allows.
