SettleReady is provided by BIIBIT LIMITED, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 16480080), registered office Suite 2, Second Floor, Sovereign House, 1 Albert Place, London N3 1QB, United Kingdom. We are the data controller for the information described below. Contact: developer@biibit.ai.
The short version
- You can study without an account. We never ask for your passport, visa or immigration details.
- Your study progress is stored on your device. If you choose to sign in, it is also stored on our server in London so it can sync between your devices.
- We collect anonymous usage statistics and crash reports to improve SettleReady.
- Payments are handled by Apple, Google or Paddle. We never see your card details.
Data stored on your device
Your answers, mistakes review, mock test scores, test date, reminder time and language settings are saved on your device and included in your device backup (iCloud or Google) if you have backups turned on. If you do not sign in, we cannot see this data. You can export it or delete it at any time in Settings.
Your account (optional)
An account is needed only to buy on our website or to use SettleReady on more than one device. If you create one, we store:
- your email address and an account ID. If you sign in with Apple or Google, they tell us your email address (Apple may give us a private relay address instead) and an ID for your account with them; we do not ask for your name, contacts or anything else;
- your synced study data: the answers and mistakes review, mock test scores, chapters read, test date and settings listed above;
- which courses you have unlocked.
This data is stored by our database provider Supabase (Supabase, Inc.) on servers in London (United Kingdom). Sign-in links are sent by our email delivery provider. Legal basis: performing our contract with you. We keep your account until you delete it. You can delete it at any time in Settings; we then delete your account data within 30 days, including from backups.
Anonymous usage statistics
The app sends events such as "chapter opened", "question answered", "mock test completed" and "purchase completed", together with a random identifier created on your device, the app version, platform (iOS, Android or web), app language and the test you are preparing for. This identifier is not your account ID and is not linked to your name, email or device advertising ID; we do not use it for advertising or to track you across other apps. We use this to understand which features help people pass and to fix problems. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in improving SettleReady. Processor: PostHog (EU hosting). We keep these events for up to 24 months.
Crash reports
If the app crashes, it sends a technical report: device model, operating system version, app version and the technical details of the error. Reports do not include your study data or any personal identifiers. Legal basis: legitimate interest in keeping SettleReady working. Processor: Sentry (Functional Software, Inc.). We keep crash reports for up to 90 days.
Question reports you send us
When you use "Report a problem" on a question, we receive the question number, the reason you chose, any comment you type, your app language and the identifier your purchases are recorded under (see Purchases below). We use that identifier only to unlock the full course for you if you are rewarded for finding an error. Please do not include personal information in the comment. We use reports only to correct questions and delete them once handled, within 12 months.
Purchases
In the apps, purchases are made through the App Store or Google Play under their terms. On our website, Paddle (Paddle.com Market Limited) sells the course to you as our reseller and Merchant of Record. Paddle collects your payment details, email address, country and billing information and is responsible for that data under its own privacy notice. Paddle shares the order details with us (email address, country, product, price and date) so we can unlock your course and help with any questions. Legal basis: performing our contract with you, and our legal obligation to keep financial records (normally six years).
In the apps, we use RevenueCat (RevenueCat, Inc.) to record which courses you have unlocked and make them available on your devices. RevenueCat receives your account ID if you are signed in (otherwise a random identifier) and the purchase record; it does not receive your payment details. For purchases on our website, we store a record of the course you bought (Paddle's transaction ID, the course, the date and whether it was refunded) with your account in our database (Supabase, see above), so the course unlocks wherever you sign in. It is deleted with your account.
Notifications
Daily study reminders are scheduled on your device. No notification data is sent to us.
International transfers
Some of our processors (RevenueCat, Sentry, and Apple or Google for sign-in) are based in the United States. Where data leaves the UK, we rely on the UK International Data Transfer Addendum or the UK Extension to the EU–US Data Privacy Framework.
Children
SettleReady is intended for adults preparing for citizenship and settlement tests. It is not directed at children under 16.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you can ask to access, correct or delete personal data we hold, ask for a copy in a portable format, object to processing, or ask us to restrict it. You can export your data and delete your account yourself in Settings. For anything else, email developer@biibit.ai. Because usage statistics are anonymous and not linked to your account, we usually cannot identify them unless you send us the identifier shown in your exported data. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
Changes
We will update this page if what we collect changes, and change the date at the top.
